David 39
by James Caddick

In David 39 a mannequin narrated the story of his life. The film was shot on a 16mm wind-up Bolex camera at variuos locations. After the film was developed and a rough edit assembled, the script was written. This being a conscious decision to let the images form the story rather than in the conventional voice over documentary where generally the images serve to illustrate a prewritten script.

Through the use of an unreliable narrator, we begin to wonder what is true and what is fiction, is this a diary or a fantasy.
